Former OpenAI chief technology officer (CTO), Mira Murati, on Wednesday launched an AI startup called Thinking Machines Lab.
The new company described itself as an artificial intelligence research and product that focuses on “building a future where everyone has access to the knowledge and tools to make AI work for their unique needs and goals,” foreign media wrote, according to Telegraph.
The Thinking Machines Lab team consists of about 30 people who are researchers, engineers, and builders from OpenAI, Meta, and Mistral.
Mira abruptly left OpenAI in September 2024. She shared a statement online that read: “I am leaving because I want to create time and space to do my own exploration.”
The startup is currently comprised of two-thirds former OpenAI employees, which includes Barret Zoph, a former researcher at OpenAI, and John Schulman, co-founder of OpenAI and former Chief Science Officer at Anthropic. /DLYnews/
