Vladimir Putin has said Russia is ready to return to negotiations over the war in Ukraine, adding that a resolution is a priority for Russia.
In comments quoted by the state news agency Tass, Putin said the aim of yesterday’s talks between US and Russian officials in Saudi Arabia was to increase trust.
Putin said the American delegation acted without prejudice or judgment, the Telegraph reports.
The Russian president stressed that he was told by Donald Trump that Ukraine would participate in the upcoming talks.
While further details are not currently available, they come after US and Russian officials met yesterday in Saudi Arabia for talks on Ukraine.
Putin also said he was happy to meet with the US president after their phone call last week, but added that the talks still needed to be prepared. /DLYnews/
