The world watched as A$AP Rocky leaped into Rihanna’s arms after his acquittal on Tuesday, and now she’s sharing her joy.
The superstar singer and mogul took to Instagram, posting, “The Glory belongs to God and God alone. Thankful, humbled by His mercy!” after a California jury found A$AP Rocky not guilty of two felony assault charges related to a 2021 shooting incident in Los Angeles.
The longtime couple, who share two sons—RZA, 2, and Riot, 1—first connected as friends after collaborating on the remix of Rihanna’s 2011 single Cockiness (Love It). Their chemistry was on full display at the MTV VMAs when Rocky grabbed Rihanna’s backside mid-performance. Though her team was alarmed, she later co-starred in his Fashion Killa music video, and their friendship deepened.
“We saw fashion the same. We saw creative the same,” Rihanna recalled in a 2024 Interview magazine feature. By late 2019, their bond turned romantic, growing stronger during the pandemic.
“COVID sped up our relationship,” she explained. “Had it not been for COVID, we would’ve taken much longer to realize we were ready to start a family.”
After the verdict A$AP Rocky posted on X “Don’t Be Dumb,” which is the title of his delayed album.
