Do you think about throwing a cigarette butt on the ground or leaving an empty pack behind because there is no trash can nearby?
Not only is this poor civic behavior, but Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) has warned that such actions can lead to fines of up to Dh4,000 (about 1,000 euros), foreign media write, according to DLY.
On Tuesday, DMT published a list of fines for public littering, based on the Administrative Decision regarding the preservation of public appearance, health and tranquility in the Emirates.
These penalties are designed to protect and maintain public spaces.
The extensive list is said to include over 70 fines covering various violations, such as littering, improper waste disposal, causing disturbances in public places, camping without a permit, abandoning vehicles and illegal public advertising.
