A quaint island off the coast of the United Kingdom has taken a stance against cars and bicycles in a bid to maintain peace.
A small portion of residents on Herm Island appreciate the tranquility that their home offers.
“Herm Island is a magical place,” the island’s website says, according to the DLY.
“Every inch of it is steeped in history and mystery,” she adds.
Stretching just 2,100m by 800m and housing around 60 residents, the Hermit’s compact size lends itself well to the permanent ban on wheeled transport, making it possible for locals to get around on foot.
The northern part of the island boasts stunning beaches and green spaces.
To the east, you will find the main beaches, known for their white sand and crystal clear waters.
